When To See A Doctor

Most teens get whiteheads and blackheads, and those can usually be dealt with via over the counter solutions. But one size does not fit all.

If you’ve followed an over-the-counter regimen for a several weeks and your teen’s skin hasn’t improved, or if it’s gotten worse, it’s time to see a dermatologist or other dermatology specialist.

Make sure you find one that your teen will be comfortable with, since teen acne is as much an emotional condition as a physical one.

Of course, if your teen’s acne is very severe you should consult a dermatologist first before trying any treatment.
