Commit to a Regimen

Clear skin doesn’t happen overnight. It takes patience and it takes commitment.

Your best route to clear skin is to find a skin care regimen that works for you – whether it’s a regimen prescribed by your doctor, or an over-the-counter skin care program like Proactiv® – and stick to it.

It may be hard to do, particularly if you don’t see results right away. But don’t be tempted to stop your treatment or switch skin care routines, if that’s the case. Treatments can take six to eight weeks to deliver significant results.  That may sound like a long time, but your goal of clear skin is worth it, right?  So stick with your skin care regimen. If it helps, take photos of yourself every two weeks, and compare the photos. While it’s hard to see results on a day-to-day basis, you should see marked improvements in your ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos.

Also, it’s important to stay with your skin care routine even when skin appears clear.  You may not think you need to continue an acne treatment then, but trust me – you do.  A pimple takes 2-3 weeks to form, so even when your skin looks great, there could be another breakout lurking below the surface. Stay with your regimen to prevent new acne from forming.

Remember, there’s no cure for acne. But by sticking to a consistent skin care routine, you can stay ahead of it. And you can have the clear skin you deserve.
